Sally Scott Lyons Family

SALLY SCOTT LYONS, born at Schumpert Sanitarium, Shreveport, 9:02 A. M., Wednesday, September 13, 1950. On April 10, 1971, she married James Robert Wood (born September 19, 1950 and died August 19, 2019, the son of James William Wood born in Springfield, Illinois on September 2, 1924, died March 22, 2016, Shreveport, La. and Elizabeth Rosella Wood born July 12, 1927 Springfield, Illinois and died on Mother’s Day, May 13, 2024 in Shreveport, La.). They divorced Spring of 2007.

Sally Wood was an accomplished painter and classical harpist who played for 30 years with the Baton Rouge, Shreveport, Biloxi and Lafayette Symphonies. She played more than 10,000 weddings and devoted her life to improving her community at the University United Methodist Church, Baton Rouge Music Club, Family Road of Greater Baton Rouge and the Unitarian Churches of Baton Rouge and Shreveport.

Sally and Jimmy had one daughter:

Stafford Wood, born at Highland Hospital, November 16, 1973. She attended Baton Rouge Magnet High School, Boston College and Louisiana State University. She received a Master of Arts in Liberal Arts from St. John’s College in Santa Fe in May 2025. Stafford founded Covalent Logic, a public relations firm on November 23, 2005, which she ran for more than 20 years during which time she employed more than 200 web developers, graphic designers, project managers and public relations specialists and served clients all over the world. On August 12, 1995 at University United Methodist Church in Baton Rouge, La., she married Jared West Kendall (born New York City July 16, 1973). They divorced on May 16, 2011. They had two children:

1. Quinn Elizabeth Kendall, born August 28, 1998 at Womans Hospital in Baton Rouge, La. She graduated from Baton Rouge Magnet High School in 2012. She received a B.A. in Music from Rhodes College in 2016 and an M.A. in Education from UNLV in 2024.

2. Steven Nicholas Kendall, born January 1, 2004 at the General Hospital in Baton Rouge, La. They graduated from Austin High School in 2022.
